Why do we need Professional Awards?
The successful delivery of the BTEC Level 2 Award in Breakaway & Self-Defence and
BTEC Level 2 Intermediate Award Certificate in Physical Restraint ,However, because
of the nature of the Security industry with frequent long and unsocial hours, it
is often very difficult for people employed within the industry to access suitable
training especially if they work in remote or rural locations. Research in the UK
in 1999 - 2000 indicated that employers preferred short, sharp focused training programmes
which ideally could be delivered in-house at a relatively low costs.In House Staff,
While they have gained a lot of experience, quite often neither additional training
has been taken nor appropriate qualifications achieved.
The difficulties of accessing and completing courses was also reflected in falling
numbers of people both enrolling for and
more significantly,completing courses designed for management development. It was
against this background that the short courses leading to the Professional Awards
were developed.
